That's cool Clock! The steamer John reffered to was called the Bertrand, she sank on April 1, 1865 on the way to the Montana Territory and they recovered her cargo in 1968. I can remember going over to DeSoto Bend as a kid (it's about 5 miles from where I live) and watching the men excavate the hold, they found over 500,000 artifacts that are now on display in the museum at DeSoto. I'm like John when I see a picture of an old steamer, the first thing I think of is the Bertrand. Thanks Clock, great song and cool video.

Pretty good, Clock.   I grew up near the mighty Missouri River.   A great grand father I never knew worked mules and was a fiddler.   Desoto Bend is a national refuge near me (and closer to Maddog) where a museum holds a sunken steam boat's cargo that was ressurected in the 60s.

I think maybe you are or should be a historian as well as a rocket scientist, raconteur and rapscallion.
