Lucky fishing hole

Tribute to my smilindog swamp witch guitar.

Lucky Fishing Hole
Got up before the rooster called me
Before freight train started back

Dug my crawlers the night before
Like a good county boy before he headed out the door

I feel the cold mud slap my feet
Along the path I have to go

A secret pass down generations
Called the lucky fishing hole

Smell the sweet Spanish moss
Magic vapor of the emerald swamp

Eyes are watching every step I take
Listen for any stick that would break

House lights flickering through the wood
Smell of something cooking good

I know a witch whose spell is hot
She’ll turn back time or make it stop

The memories
Of how it used to be
Come to the Bayou
And you will see
