Louise Alban performing her song Ghost at The Songsmith Sessions at The Alma, accompanied by bemuzic on Cigar Box Guitar.
LYRICS:
Ghost
There’s a ghost in the machine.
It’s an energy, you’re telling me that you’re here,
CHORUS
well I see no faces,
no physical traces of you.
I don’t hear no footsteps,
but I feel your heart beating through.
There’s an energy flowing into me.
It’s a funny way of showing me you’re here,
CHORUS
There’s fractures in music,
and files that have just disappeared,
and pictures of daisies that never appeared on my screen.
CHORUS
It was a great evening....there's another video here from the evening of Tom doing a unique version of Gloria.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnPSWmbiJ9Q&feature=youtu.be
No CBG's in that one but well worth a watch!!

Oh... nice lyrics. Like the song all the more.
thanks Paul and Whiteowl : -)
Cool!
thanks all!
@ Wes, well it was her song, I was just doing some accompaniment...we are going to try and work out some of our songs that we can do together though.
@ Clockwork, yeah there was more talking than I remember. They're better at listening there than some places I've been. I have just written one with the Diddley bow that Juju made, that I'm looking forward to playing, as it'll blast em away!! It has A low E string tuned down to a C with LOTS of overdrive!!
@ Vinylhead, thanks, yeah she hasn't recorded it yet, but she probably will do. Ha yeah playing with other people has it's good and bad points! When I'm busking I play songs all different ways, depending on what mood I'm in..and it keeps things from getting boring!
@ Uncle J, thanks, I've posted the lyrics now. She wrote it after we did the "Music In My Head" song and video http://www.cigarboxnation.com/video/blue-beluga-music-in-my-head ....files kept disappearing as we sent them to each other!!
Very nice. Nice voice. I wish I could hear the lyrics a bit better, but it sounds good and you really complimented Louise's sound with the cbg.
Great job,you work well together.
Very very nice!
She's great, and you're not too bad yourself. I'd love to hear a better recording of that song, it sounds like it's right up my country/Americana street.
I played at a charity gig with a friend a couple of weeks ago, and I'd completely forgotten how to play with somebody. I've played solo for so long I've got used to throwing in an extra chorus here, a few bars more between verses there. During rehearsals, my usually calm and serene friend eventually ran out of patience with my free-form approach, and angrily said "Will you please just do it EXACTLY how you're going to do it on the night!"
I think I made him cry a little bit.
Here you see one of the benefits of playing stuff
that's louder than peoples voices,
cause when they chatter away saying stuff
you drown them out with your noises!
thanks Mike...yeah it takes some getting used to. I was pleased I didn't go wrong as we have only played together at a family party before and decided to do that song just the day before.
