Great Uncle John.  I have found 5 strings much more playable than 6.  My guitar neck is exactly as wide as my 6-string Fender acoustic and I feel that I can finger chords and notes much easier.  That low D is just a pesky nuisance anyway.  Good luck with your modifications.

The new slide that is on the way is absolutely beautiful.  The ash burl in the center looks great and I can't wait to see the actual thing.   I'm happy Randy had something in stock that I could order right away.

I like that in a couple of ways, Randy.  Good on you.

Eric, I did play at length on a 5 string.  It worked better for me than having that low D 6th.  In fact, after a couple of years of playing GDg 3 strings - now a GDGBD 5 makes some sense.   I hope to work on setting up a 5 to suit me on string spacing and string height.

Randy is a great guy. There isn't any insurance for loss due to owner carelessness, but I did place a new order for a slide Randy had in stock. I'll be checking the mailbox daily!

And I'll say again that Randy is a great guy. A real artist and it is a pleasure to be one of his customers.
