It AIn't Wrong To Sing A Country Song (Song For Jim Lloyd and his songwriting showcase)

First off, I want to thank Waltz Astoria for organizing their songwriting contest. It is a great opportunity and experience for young songwriters. I had a blast competing, as I knew I would. There was some amazing talent and I think that the most deserving musicians progressed to the finals. I would like to congratulate them and commend them on their hard work and dedication to their craft. The on thing I don't appreciate was one of the judges, Jim Lloyd of Jim Llloyd's songwriter's showcase. Rather then saying anything constructive that I could use, started off by saying something to the extent of "I don't get that country twang thing" and then proceed to do nothing but put down country music, a genera that I love. Well, not much I can do about it...but I can write a song about it...so I did! Hope ya'll like it!

Ya say you don't like country up in New York City
Your high horse don't need songs about pickup trucks
The crowd seemed to like me so that's a pity
I'll listen to them, you I don't give a fuck

I'll play my self a country song
and let whoever wants to sing along
There's lots of things to say that I do wrong
But it ain't wrong to sing a country song

I guess maybe I don't take it well
I laughed it off when I should have have spoke my mind
But hey buddy, if that's how ya feel
I just leave everything you said behind

Coulda said I sing off key sometime I do
Coulda said I go off rhythm I do that to
But don't say you don't like when twang is goin' on
'cause it ain't wrong to sing a country song

Jim Llloyd guess ya didn't like this song of mine
But hey, that happens from time to time
But hey, keep your comments about me
And let Country Music be!
