James, I came back to this.   It works on DGB for me.   I can do it, but my mind is not working right to use it on songs- at least yet.  Really neat how this is simple to do the basics in multiple keys.

James,  thanks for doing this.   I'm not getting all of it, but enough to do some fun stuff and maybe, eventually, I will get more.  

What I took from it for now is to use that L pattern on a 3 string DGB, which is one of my fave tunings.  Then I move that pattern up and down the neck and as you said can play in a bunch of keys.   I like it.  Thanks, my friend.
