How Great Thou Art on Cigar Box Lap Steel

How Great Thou Art played on a cigar box lap steel. This was recorded into my laptop through an old el cheapo mic plugged into the mic input. I was pleasantly surprised with the tone and clarity of the recording. i hope you enjoy it!

Wow that was so elegant and full of character. You've made a wonderful sounding instrument and play it so competently. I've been listening to a lot of Ed Gerhard lately and love that weissenborn sound to bits, please post more videos playing this instrument :-)

The unmistakable mellow sound of a lapsteel through a clean amp THANKS MIKE

Oh - Tim, I have some homemade electric footboards but didn't use them in this video. The camera mic is so sensitive though that it picks up the slightest foot tap even on the carpet and makes it sound like a subkick almost. Gonna try to harness that.

Thanks Tim! It's got six strings, tuned low to high D A D F# A D. The strings are Curt Mangan Resophonic Nickel Wound  .16 - .56 guage. They helped the tone much more than I expected.
