I dusted off an old build and installed a B Bender. This guitar was the perfect platform for this because it was way overbuilt originally, (probably why it has been on the wall for so long) but it's strong as can be and gave me places to mount stuff. Nice to have it back in the rotation.

Hi Michael,  I'm probably not the one to ask because I don't usually seal my builds, but I know many people have used spray lacquer to seal off their boxes.  I say leave 'em natural and let the dings and scratches add some mojo!

Looking for info on what kind of sealer to put on over the cigar box itself?  Keep the paper edges from pealing up, moisture out etc.?  Thanks.

I saw that Rolling bender and almost went that route Andries - the nice thing about that one is it requires no modifications to the guitar.  I was thinking about something like that with the G string - lots of possibilities.

I'm starting to get the hang of it.  It's not too hard, but it's different.  Better stick to one string at a time for now!

Thanks for the reply turtle head,i was interested in the bender for awhile but somehow never come round to it ,but had alook in to it again, there is allso a device cald the ROLLING BENDER

oN THE PICTURE is the hand operated tele model, think this is also adapteble for CBG Playing,co's its used in a dampening kind of playing techniek ,your corner-iron solution is a ginius adaptation from the Birdman C. White ideer, love that stuff, gets the Braincells in Action !!! Greeeetssszzz

Thanks Andries.  It is a little tricky, but do-able.  I broke the B string last night - gotta work on a smoother string guide.  I put a heavier B string - like a .16 on it just because it was laying around and it was quite a bit harder to pull, so you gotta take in to account the string gauge too.  I'm going to try a set of 10s next and see.  I think a lighter gauge is the way to go.

I looked at those and a few others that were levers on the bridge but the strap attachment seemed to be the most natural (and original).  Hipshots are fine if you don't want to rout out your telecaster, but we don't have that issue on CBGs.

Gene Parsons is still making this style and installing them for like $1500+.  I think I did OK for about $8.50 at Ace Hardware.

I never knew about the neck style bender. I always assumed they were  hip shots.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kN3LdLvvSk
