Well said Mr Pick,  some very good points I totaly agree with......right then, back to my latest build, the swamp witch inspired gretsch mash-up ;-)

without  seeing  the full  correspondence   and  emails  .. it's easy  for  us     to pick  sides  here  .

giving   gretsch some  credit  ,  at  least they didn't   come right out and sue you  for  what was  obviously  a  copied  and  /  "inspired   guitar  .. but   you did not  try and  hide that   fact     you  even   gave them  credit.  .but then   there's the logo issue  ..  that    can  hit kinda   personal   ..  so  they  coulda   got pissier  on that too .

i  think   they  saw  someone  respectfully   representing it  as "inspired  by  "   ..  and   were   personally involved    enough   to  have the right    to ask to  refine  it    more to  their  liking to  remove any  doubt  . 

which really aint    bad  if that's what  it  is  . 

i  mean  if  someone    on  this site  copied  the swamp witch    shape and design     ... and  my  logo  ..  i'd  be  pretty  pissed     .. and  im  sure they  would get alot   of  flack  from  others  here  too.  

but  if  they  callled  it   "inspired  by  "    etc ... and gave  me  the  honorable  mention  as  you  did  with  gretsch     ..  id  kinda  be  honored  .  (maybe still  pissy  about the body  shape  tho  )  ;-)

some  of  my  designs and  ideas     have  been  copied  on  this site  by    others  ..     to  an  extent  i  chalk  it  up  to " imitation     is  the best  form  of  flattery"  .   or  pat  myself  on the back  for  a great  shared   idea .

but  the  most   obvious   designs  that   were used ,  the builder  had   the decency  and respect  to  ask me   first,  and  give  the  honorable  mention   .  and  being  honored  ,...  i  give  them  decency  and respect back .

that being  said  ..  anyone trys to   copy   my  body   design  ...

 i  keeeeel  you !!!   ;-)

Gretsch  should have paid you for artistic liberty to pump out a limited addition. This box is really a beautiful instrument and sounds spectacular.
