experiment success wow. What a great travel instrument loud small just awesome. You just knock down another wall in the quest for volume in these type of instrument. This is not a alternative it may be the go too.

Jim, you inspired me to pick up a pie pan banjo and take it out to the shop.  Strings need lowered a bit.  

Hey, your plastic  head method would  likely work fine with a square or rectangular frame.   Might be kind of neat that way.

Shrinking Pete!   Pretty cool, Jim.   Like the headstock, head and the whole thing.  And you sure can play it.   Even looks like you lost a few pounds doing the roof work.   So much volume for such a small head.  (the banjer).
