reading this it may suggest sound post and bass bar may be the cause..

so it makes more sense, this could be the issue.

This was interesting for seeing a guitar soundboard frequency response, but the violin would be very different:

in the chart 3rd below and far right picture 740 Hz f sharp looks to come just below the sound bass bar , which is off set. Whilst the F sharp at 340 hz may be from nearer the front as you seem to have found.

Have you got one of these bass bars glued under the lid?

Is this why the makers use what's called tuned wood, that has a frequency response with a tuning fork

to get the best out of an instrument?

Wow facinating, I was going to say try a sound post under the bridge?

It may well be a reason why over hundered of years they are curved near that location.

I wonder if a tiny sound strut glued along the under neath would solve this at an angle, bit like a guitar strut?
