Thanks eK !  I'm hoping to get a better recording of it soon.  The body inside the box is the side of an old oak cupboard. I like recycling wood, partly because it's a shame to waste it and, secondly, because it's really difficult to get good seasoned timber over here.

That Guild bass is superb.  I'll add it to my wish list.......

Love it! Good looks. And its voice has a lot of character. Reminds me somewhat of that bright but tubby sound you get out of one of those new Gulld Starfire basses. (Listen here.) And seeing as those babies go for about $1500, that's not too shabby for a bass you've built yourself.

Hey, if it worked for Brian May when he re-purposed a fireplace mantle and other scrap parts for his home-made and now iconic "Red Special" guitar it can work for you! :-))  (FWIW He likes a really thick neck too.)

Thanks Steve. Yeah, it seems to be holding up.  I made quite a long heel, then the neck is glued and screwed in place.  It was going to be a through neck but the box was too shallow so I changed it to bolt-on.

Nice! I love the bass sound from the CBG and it's good looking too.

Still in one piece?

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks guys !  Yeah, Digly Bass Bus lines - that would be great !

The buzzing is me hitting the string too hard. The action is reasonably good, apart from the high nut. I'll fix that today.

LOL, Clock.  Good, but a blues bus looks like an old Greyhound or Trailways.   It has soldiers on it and old ladies eating out of grocery sacks and a bluesman in the back.  And some kind of weird pervert.

Here is a more UK appropriate shirt design:

I want a tee shirt with Digly Bus Lines showing a big Greyhound style bus, but with a Digly on cbg logo replacing the dog logo.

Digly, that is one super fine DANDY looking cbg.     I am on the Digly bus with the Digly bass.  Good job building and playing.
