The Cry of the South ,many way and many singers,1882  sung on plantations ,REDNEX made it world wide popular in line dance,,Cotton eyed means drunk on Moonshine, Bob Wills has a verry well known version ,It won a Grammy as a song ! By the Moody Brothers.
