I didn't take it apart to find out what's inside. I may do that in a diff video... but it just worked as is. I was surprised.

The reason why modern one isn’t lo-fi is because it has a preamp & some digital audio converter circuitry? Was that earpiece a crystal element, they need an impedance matching hi/lo Z microphone transformer to make it work properly?
