Thanks bob!

RTZ, it's been a couple years of cobbling together a signal chain for recording.  Mainly running through a cheap Behringer mixer, but it works.  From there into Audacity for mixing, then export to a free Fruity Loops demo for EQ, compression, limiting and some reverb to glue it all together.  Lots of trial and error as you know.

Ditto, turtlehead!

Very cool Jim!  I'd say Old Time has just as much claim to the homemade instrument world as the Blues.  Plenty of examples of CB fiddles and homemade banjos going way back.  Dulcimers too...

Oops! Unc just jumped up a spot and RTZ's Catch the Wind definitley belongs there too!

Cool, turtlehead! At this moment there's clawhammer banjo in the 1 and 2 spots in top content! Unbelievable! With Uncle John in #3. I celebrate the open minds and musical taste of CBN! Oh also about that bass - on mine I replaced .105 weedwhacker low E with some of that green coated wire clothesline from Wal Mart and now I can tell what note I'm playing on that string.

Nice. This vid climb back to the top content after leaving for a spell.

Ya Turtlehead, I was wondering about that....cause the strings on mine do the same thing....thats why I asked what you were using.....maybe they would had made a difference....guess were in the same boat.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Thanks again Slow.  smilingdog, I appreciate it.  I usually go for the sad stuff, so this is a nice change of pace - fun to play.

Hey Reeds - I'm using .065" .080" .095" and .105" weed wacker line.  The .105" is basically just there for looks at this point.  Can't get a good sound out of it for the low E.  If I had to do it again, I'd make it a 3 stringer.
