Thanks much Southern Ray, and agreed Poorness Studios. I learned early on when building cbg's, canjos and found-object guitars and basses (as y'all surely have learned) that each box, tin, diff. neck wood, etc., all of it affects the acoustic and also pickup-ed (inventing words now) sound. You truly never know what the git will sound like. Every nuance (string gauge, etc.) affects tone and so it's Christmas every time you string up and play 'em. Yep! Fun. -Glenn

I gotta admit... I love the sound of a canjo. My goof off canjo is still one of my favorite instruments to play. Every time I pick it up, I just love it.

Super quick, cheap, simple way to throw together a diddley bow. The wing nut at bottom works as both tailpiece and bridge... string (I use wound, plain, usually acoustic but sometimes electric strings, all gauges...) on this one is an acoustic wound but light gauge G, something near .023 -not certain because a friend gave me about 40 of them years ago... still have about 15 left! Hope these photos help explain this particular recipe for diddleys. -Glenn

Ha, no Andries, I've made too many to count- large, small and medium size biscuit tins, Altoids and other tiny tin diddleys, canjos w. cans, all sorts. Yep, all sound metal/tin but different tones, variables, diff. sizes, wood necks that affect tone. Thx. Tuners- in U.S. we call them "eye bolts". Just under "eye" a "nut". At bottom "wing nut". only 6 times ? thas a thin sting a 9 or 11 the twang is thanks to the Tin ,got a couple of those, mine is fretless to that way you can slide to the spot ,its that specific sound you get that makes the didley sing ! i like your inovative cheap tuners aswell ,can you allaborate on that? do a display on that? clip? i have seen dubble nut wing nut ,you never drill a hole for the sting? believe you use a loop and twist it up dont you ? !
