Original CBG music - 3 string tuned GCE, 3 string tuned CGC, washtub bass. The carnival is mere steps from my house. It's fun for a day, but after that I go a little crazy. This is the second version of the song I posted called A Long Night at Oily's. I added the bass and a second guitar part based on some of the exercises from the Phrygian Kid's blog "I see threes" Harmony and counterpoint- yes!

Thanks guys.  That eastern flavor is something I can't get enough of.  It's mostly dorian I think - started out as an offshoot of banjo sawmill stuff, but turns into something a little different with the second guitar.  it could use a little bit of slide in there for the full CBG experience, but I'm putting this to rest for a while.

Carl - I don't have anything put together for download yet, but I'm working on it. Very kind of you and I appreciate the feedback.  I didn't get video of this when I was recording, so I figured I get a light show out of the carnival last night. Fun video work in and of itself. I too like performance videos, but I try to mix it up so you all don't get tired of seeing my gigantic noggin ;)

I really love this piece and it has been an eye opener for me as far as what is possible on a CBG.  There's music in them there boxes and don't let anyone tell you different.  "No Rules" is our mantra, but it could very well be "No Limitations".  That's what's so incredibly exciting about these 1-4 stringed instruments.  The trail is still being blazed.  We share ideas through the folk process.  I come here and learn something new every day.

Do or do not.  There is no try.

Oh, and Clock - if the Illuminati have infiltrated the Carny scene, we are in trouble.  They're packing up and off to the next town right now leaving in threes.  They'll be in your town sometime this summer folks.  Be strong.

WOW!!! I always enjoy your videos. As usual, you sir. are a professional.

While I always like to see you playing (that way I might pick up a few things), I enjoyed the video footage of this as well. Both pieces go together along with your story, could be part of a movie. Nice presentation.

Have you put together any CDs or downloads of you music?

Sounds beautiful and a bit middle eastern.  3 stars times 3.

I see three's all throughout your video...

and more of them every time I watch it.

It is a diabolical ILLUMINATI CONSPIRACY!

That sounds lovely. It has an Eastern European feel to it.
