I put tape a stuff in my slides to John I like it to fit tight some people don't

I prefer glass and have a sort glass slide but thing about glass it's transparent thing about transparent it blends int anything so glass slids always diapering in plane sight

Besides a good slide song, we have a slide discussion going.   I used to really like a pretty red ceramic slide.   It was light, fit my finger after I put some velcro inside.  I think it is the shape of my tapered or beveled brass slide that helps me more than the material.  On the downside it is heavy - especially on my pinky finger.

I know people here don't know me as a slide player but that will soon change. setup and slide choice is all you really need to know to get a sound you like and the ? glass or metal will be here for ever, try everything until you find what you like. I like glass Gen-u-wine slide are under $20 they are not polished on the ends like diamond slides but I  think they are great. Diamond now has a slide half metal half glass its call the evolution.

I used to be down on myself when I could hear the slide rattling on frets or wood.   Some nation guys told me those noises are the soul of the music.  I think that is mostly true, but still try to keep it smooth and quiet.  And not worry about a bit of noise.  

Most of us have tried multiple slides.   My best luck is with a brass tapered slide.   Learned that from Sharecropper Joel.
