Jim, I used the original bottom. It's 1/8th inch birch ply.

I fan braced it, and installed perfing to keep it secure

Cool! The Undercrown box I have has a real thick top and bottom. Did you thin yours any? Nice tone on this even if you're not a 4 string player.
