Hey Steve,

You posted several requests for help, but addressed it to all members, which leaves no method to respond. Start a discussion thread and we can comment,

Google "fret calculator".

I use and prefer the app at stewmac.com, but others use different sites too.

I'd provide a link but cant right this moment.

Good luck

Mark

Yeah, they might work......they have threaded spots for the screws and if you could make an extension with a threaded rod you might get it to work.

Hey Steve, thanks for the comment, glad you like my stuff. Another way to "calculate" fret space and scale length is to just copy the scale of an existing guitar onto the back of a yardstick or piece of lattice. Just lay your yardstick on the guitar and mark the bridge, frets and nut positions on the stick. viola, instant guitmeasuring stick!

Steve,

The best why to figure the fret spacing, is to first figure your scale length (distance from nut to bridge).  Once you have that (best in mm's) go to the Stewmac.com fret position calculator... http://www.stewmac.com/freeinfo/Fretting/i-fretcalc.html   .... use any number over 21 for number of frets and select Dulcimer from the drop down menu for instrument.

It will then supply you with a table for fret # and spacing from nut and from the suceeding fret.  For best results use a yard stick that has mm spacing and used the table nut to fret to mark fret location.  You only need to mark to the nearest mm.... that is plenty accurate.

It you need more help, let me know.

the best,

Wichita Sam

Welcome Steve. When you feel better go to www.stores.ebay?thejewelryandguitarstore I have 5 or 6 nice little 2 watt & one 4 watt amps on there. If that doesn't get you there try nouglyguns. If you want to build one, I'm putting some complete kits together that will include EVERYTHING to build your own 8 watt amp. I'm just so far behind on guitars that I won't be building amps for awhile.
