Hi Ben!

I've been playing your 3 (or 4) string "Las Cabrillas" CBG since I purchased it in October and am gradually getting to grips with CBG playing -

In fact my guitar tutor has asked me to accompany him on rhythm CBG when he does his next "open mic" session down at his local: never thought I'd be playing in public, but there you go! (We hope to play as a duo at Boxstock's open mic in October!)

Now Ben, when I first bought the guitar you kindly mentioned that you could send me a deeper nut to raise the action a few millimetres. Having got used to playing, I think I'd prefer a higher action so I wondered if the offer of a replacement nut is still available? I think I'd need to raise the strings about 3mm - they're about 1mm off the fretboard at the first fret at present.

Hope you are ok and still producing your masterpieces - I'll be looking to buy another at Boxstock 2011!

Best wishes

Steve Pike (AKA "Klaatu")

Hi Roosterman, the charity gig is at Maplecourt hotel, saturday 4th june,

hoping it will start around twelve in the afternoon..there is a few bands etc.dj,s...my son is running the event.not sure what time we go on stage, but hope we are the first on,,dont like to follow a very loud band,as it tends to make you play a lot louder than you may like to play..you never know ,?we could end up being the loudest..i will look out for you.

My web address is www.DeltaBluesClassics.com. I have a couple of pages of guitars on there, but they're all sold. I removed the purchase buttons for now until I get caught up. Check out my Youtube channels if you get a chance. My main channel is called RamblinAround and the I have one for DeltaBluesClassics as well. Talk to ya later...Jeff.

Hey Rooster....it's good to be back. I've been absent from here for far too long. I have been doing commissions mostly. My plan is to start doing more of what I feel like doing and then just putting it up for sale on my website. I just starting building guitars again. So, I should be around more often. Hope things are going well.

Sorry for not responding sooner Ben.

Yep - I run my telephone mic through a compressor, add a little distortion and reverb. Makes all the difference to my lousy vocals.

I look forward to hearing more from you ;-)

Hi Ben ,
Yep, I made my telephone mic. Its really simple. I remembered reading an interview with bib log who talked about how he did it , then I saw BB Redshaw in vids from the fes in 2009.
I.ve just connected an old guitar cable to the terminals that go to the earpiece - not the mic.
I'm just waiting for a bunch of old military headphones to arrive - my plan is to see what they sound like when used as mics.
I look forward to hearing your mic in action ;-)

Hi Ben - Thanks for leaving the comment on my recent vid. You asked how I created the backline / drums >> I like to use Ableton Live these days. Like you, I have a murky past messing with dance music production and I used to use both Cubase and Logic - But I settled on Ableton in recent years cos it just does everything I want - simply.

I put this drum track together quite quickly (I set myself a tight time limit of 1 or 2 hours, otherwise I bugger about too much). I use a combination of drum loops and various kits loaded into Battery (a cool Native Instruments drum sampler plugin). Once I've got the sounds I want I then build the track structure from the various loops.

Let me know if you want to hear more... And thanks for the wood I used for the fretboard on this cbg.
