Thanks JUJU, coming from you, it's a great compliment. I draw a lot, but not in my builds or pottery. I draw to decorate or explain. Building is drawing in three dimension. I'm glad you liked the eye. And that it made it to you in short order and safely. Smoke and mirrors. As it stands the string on this diddley will be quite close to the pup's eye. How close should it be? I may add a thin fretboard to get the pup a little farther from the string. I'm planning on a brass screw in the nose which goes through the soundboard and is wired to my ground on the volume pot. That should work for the string grounding. The slot in the screw will be my bridge saddle. There will be a tooth on the lip over the string hole. I could use this as a ground post also or as an alternative to the bridge ground. Either would work. Hope you're well and frisky... Dave
I Have some mats's on the Cliff and Chap good to meet you man. You can play. Ilike the Les Paul Blues. I gotto go talk a again I gotta go to bed up a 5 and here is 1 hour forward from you. Small world ;-)
Hey bro, well, I got a smokin' deal on a refurbished server tower, $168.00 U.S., and it was a blank slate to boot! My buddies been hounding me to run Linux so I let him have at it, the O.S. seems fine to me so far, I'm pretty technologically stunted so it's not that big a deal. Just have to find a program that works with my wifes HD viddy and I'm golden. Hey, your ears musta been burnin' about them cones! LOL But yeh dude, still want me a tri-cone set up for sure, let me know how much and where to send the money. :>) And if ya could send me some numbers for a multiple set order as well, I've got a few guitar shops that are waiting for some of my builds, so the sooner the better cause I need to build some reso's in this next grip of builds I have cooking up.
Hey man, thought i'd drop in an see how your doin', been a while and I just got a new computer with a Linux OS and i'm back in business :>) Drop me a line here or there, and I'll talk to ya soon mate.
hey, they're reasonable, i'll have to design/ build something special ... i'll be in touch. summers on the way, done 1 festi last week and got a few people interested, not least an old aquaintance who wants me to come to WOMAD and help out on his project - woodland gamalan , they build instruments staight out of the woods ...offered me a pitch building diddleys etc...who'd ha' tho't it ...:)
Hey JUJU, hope alls good. I can see why you can't keep hold of a Plank for yourself, they do look, sound & play superb, you must of sold alot of those. If I had the cash I'd be ordering one today!! I wouldn't know where to start to build one, that bottle just fits in perfect!
I'd love to see your take on a gretsch, I reckon you'd make a cracker!, if you need any orange gretsch dye give us a shout as I've loads left.
Hi JuJu, I just found out what happened to Ted Crocker. He had a bad accident in Feb. and has been layed up with multiple fractures and injuries. That's what happened to my pickup order. He's just getting back to business. He's pushing hard to recover his business. I'm glad I was patient about my order now I know the circumstances. The good out of this is that it led me to you and your fine work. I love my little cyclops and the diddley is on its way. ... Dave
