Also, I long ago discovered that my banjos sounded good acoustically, while my 6-string guitars didn't. So now the 6-stringers are all amplified solid-bodies. Part of the reason is that strings on a banjo don't go as low as on a guitar, and a cigar box just isn't going to reproduce those low notes very well.

Your guitars sound every bit as good as a standard commercial electric guitar, by the way.

Great idea of the belt cutting it into in the middle. I had thought of using belts, but cutting the metal part of off and hooking those ends to the CBGs, but your idea is a 100% better.

The other has it mostly cut deeper so the lid/base has less contact with the neck. Supposed to allow more vibration and thus volume/tone/sustain. What do you cbg'ers think?
