Hey Ben, what is the tuning on a four string CBG?

Hey Ben, I really like In the Pines---it is my speed--can you post the tabs, chords, and words? Nice CBG's. Thank you.

I think having vis and tabs is really great. The problem is having the time to check them out though. I already spend way too much time in here, considering what I should be doing. But please keep posting music and vids, I'll get to them some day and be glad they are waiting for me.

Cheers Ben.
Thanks for the wishes.
My workshop is about 6 feet x 5 feet and my working area is a piece of kitchen counter top 42" long and 24" wide and when you are at the bench you have to stand still as there is no room to move so I know what you mean.
Lap steel is something that I have never even thought about. Might be worth looking at while I have some time on the computer. Any idea where I can get some idea/plan of what they are about Ben?
Have you posted any pics of the lap steel yet?

You wanna see the rest of me!!!
Not a pretty sight.
Thanks for the comment.
I am pleased with the reso so far. Building has stopped for a while as my wife was taken ill tree weeks ago with chronic pneumonia and has just spent two weeks in ITU. I'm afraid the guitars are taking a back seat at the moment, what with hours spent at the hospital, and I have very little time to do much except look after her.
But one day it will be finished and I can then start on the Mustang copy for my son with several CBG's thrown in, I hope. I will post pics when it is finally done and hopefully you will still like it.

Thanks for your kind comments, Ben! Well, the sides were made from cardboard sheet, available here in Brazil at tapestry and upholstery material suppliers. I have tried, without success, to bend a thin wood foil, so I'm cut a piece of the cardboard sheet and pasted with wood glue. I made a wooden jig to press the cardboard sheet against the body and left there for three days. Later, for protection, I did seven coats of wood varnish on the cardboard sheet. Thanks for the interest and feel free to ask any questions you want, Ben.

Ben, thanks for checking out my new tune - and for your kind comments.
Yeah, I've always loved Bluegrass, myself. Not much of the cbg world seems to flow in that direction. Of course, I suppose with a cbg it can't really be 'bluegrass' in the strictest sense. But maybe we could call it 'cigar-grass"??

Well, being just a player and not a builder, I guess it keeps my "to do list" a little shorter, but I guess I fill it up anyway with other projects like music videos, lessons, and busking. LOL It seems there is never enough time. Enjoy the adventure.

Ya, a Jam box, that is great! LOL It was built by a local professional guitar builder, Jimmy Millinchuk. I bought the box on ebay and Jimmy used the old neck from my 1935 National Duolian that he replaced. The cover plate was new, so he aged it. The cone is new. He made the tailpiece out of an old piece of brass.

Thank you for your comment about my busking video. I learned something this weekend. I thought my box was a cigar box, but I was told S.S. Pierce was an importer of jams and jellies. So, maybe it is an orange marmalade blues machine. LOL

Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee
