Thank you soooooo much for viewing, and for your kind comment! As for the guitar, there are some pictures of it on my page, along with other instruments that havebeen the basis of my sonic alchemy. I build my own boxes, and my last two builds were inspired in part by a web site called Cyber Feral. I must give credit were credit is due! This was where I found the solution for tuners in the back of the guitar. For the 12 string, I wanted to takethis idea to the next level, to see if it was possible. Tuning has been a big challenge, as well as getting the strings to settle in. I refer to the 6 and 12string builds with the wing nut tuners as "going for Baroque", in the florette sound hole design inspired by Baroque guitars and Renaissance lutes. Sorry to be so long winded about it. Methinks I pontificate too much!!! LOL!!! ... CHEERS!

Hi bemuzic! Thanks for joining up and for accepting my friend request! I am not sure what Shane wants to do with the other group yet, but I do know that the group I started is the one that he is encouraging others to join. Sorry for the confusion with the other group.... Once we get everyone moved over, I think the other will be deleted, but that's just my opinion. anything that you can do to get the new group moving forward would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

The head where the tuner is is shaped like a D and an L which stands for Denys Lord

As for the width of the DB, I find it more comfortable and I alway put a piece of exotic wood as the fret board, that and the DL where the tuner goes is my trade mark. I put indentations on the lower board as to where some of the frets go. Most people don't put additional wood, I've always been different, I like detail.

I am glad you didn't get taken on the CBGs. I don't think I have the courage to play my CBG on this site, too many talented people. I just love this community, there are so many nice people and lots of things to learn.
Take care. I will see you round.

Hey Belinda, I am sorry your CBGs frets were in the wrong place. Who made them? I have been doing research on making my own CBGs. I have some neat ideas in my head if I don't loose them. I have one four string CBG. I haven't learned too much on it yet; I am still playing round with it. I saw on here the other night where a guy made a very simple and cheap bottleneck slide. After wrapping the bottle with plastic bags, he hit the bottle with a hammer, broke off the neck, and applied masking tape to the raw sharp edge----bam, bam---a cheap bottleneck slide. I had to break several beer bottles before I came on with the right length, and I sanded the raw edges instead of masking tape. So, I am trying to get the hang of slideing the bottleneck; I know you have to very gently slide into a fret, but I haven't got there yet. It doesn't sound like I think it should. Any ideas????
There are so many talented people on this site, I don't think I have the courage to play in front of them. But I am going to place some photos on my site. Glad to meet and talk with you. I will be looking for you playing when you get your CBGS back.

Hi there, yes Juju said you had a little problem with them - sorry to hear about that! If you could send me your normal email address, Il send you a lengthy email full of pictures and prices just to give you some sort of idea! Iv got perhaps half a dozen ready to go, and I should have another 6 by the end of the week... when my parts get here! Theres quite a lot of pics on my page too. Of course, Im more than happy to build you something especially, if you have some ideas of your own?
I hope the ones you got are fixable, but if not, let me know
All the best
Ben

Hi Bemuzic
If I have to wait much longer to get the parts together I'll loose the will to live. The strike seems to be really holding this back. I hope the postie knocks on your door real soon. Will you post a vid so we can hear how they sound....or should I wait until you play the Junction!!!

Hey, didn't know there was anyone else interested in CBGs in Cambridge!
Can't believe you bought that 3 stringer. I was looking at that but decided to build my own. I'm just getting the bits together - just need the neck and my Ted Crocker stonehenge pickup for battle to commence. I hope mine will play as good as yours looks! Have they arrived yet?

I just "grab" the top bar of the box with the mouse and drag it to where I want it.

Yes it's hard to let go of them but right now i need the money as there is no work around for me as a Joiner - so the Guitars ect are just about keeping my head above the water - kinda like sink or swim i'm trying the swim option but wearing lead boots lol!
thanks for taking the time to check out my tunes glad you like them :-)
yes the bloody postal strike is having a big effect on everything - i'm at a stage now that i dont want to order any parts for fear of them getting held up in the backlog so i've been paying a little more for courier services when offerd
well i hope your guitars dont get held up as i bet your itching to get back to playing :-)
take care
