Hello Bemuzic, Steve Hardman here. I make guitars for my clients from my home in Southport, I just saw you were on line and thought I'd say Good Morning, it's clear skies and frosty this morning on Merseyside

I would love to make one but I'm impatient & dont have the tools or time at present - let alone the knowledge. Over the last year or so I have taken up the African drum - bought a cheap Oxfam drum so start with till I had some idea of what type of drum rocked me sox. One year later I've got the drum of my dreams - I'm intending the same with the CGB. So one day when I think I know something about the beast I will build my own - must be an awesome experience to have that affinity with your own creation I look forward to it. but as I mentioned at present I cant even tune the bugger without breaking strings! So I just read as much as I can and learn as I go. It will be great to connect with locals I'm sure I'll learn heaps... I've also just bought a stick dulcimer off ebay & await its delivery.

Put it on your Christmas list, they're so much fun. It takes a little experimenting to use it. The booklet isn't particlularly helpful. Hardest part is when using the looping effect, getting the timings right. I've only used it a few times yet but I'm getting there.

You will have to ask Micheal Neis why the Pigs head...
http://webpages.charter.net/shrocky2/forsale.html
I have too much techinical rubbish that I'm trying to get my head around like what guage strings, what tuning - I just need time to sit on my verandah and start playing... then hopefully I will have tunes running round my head...

Hi I found the makers name. Micheal Neis not sure what his ebay name is but as I said you can find his guitars because his trade mark is the pics of them have him playing with a pigs head on...

Thanks BM for being my first contact on here :)
I bought from the guy with who dons a pigs head for his pictures on ebay - shuld've known...lol.
He was really helpful and it was cheaper for me to buy from the US & ship to Australia than buy local at that stage.

Hey bemuzic... Thanks for your comments! Playing slide is like all things, ... the more you do it, the easier it gets. Dragging your fingers will kinda dampen any overtones, but sometimes you might find you like those overtones. Personally, I do try to drag my fingers behind the slide... but sometimes I don't, especially if I'm sliding from an open string to a noted one. Also, sometimes my fingers are lazy... :-)

I think if you're just starting to play slide, concentrate more on hitting the right note. After a while, it'll start to become kinda like second nature. Then you can start to pay more attention to the other fingers behind the slide. The way I hold my slide, the middle and first fingers almost get "defaulted" to lightly resting on the string.

If that doesn't make sense, let me know... feel free to ask any questions, I'll answer as best I can!

When are you putting the other string on?
