"Thanks for taking the time to look and post favourable comments on some of my builds Rob, muchly appreciated, somewhere amongst all those builds, there are 4 Uke's and 2 Banjoleles :-)
Hi Rob! Thanks for the compliment. I'm a ukulele man and just testing the CBG waters. As for the dye, I spent about thirty bucks on Evil Bay. Great stuff, but don't go buying some. I still have lots remaining, so you can borrow some of mine. Cheers, Bookie
Thank you, Rob. You, too. I mostly like making them. When I play it's usually a little baritone that's got a Spruce top, Rock Maple sides and back, a Maple neck and Sapele fretboard. The Rock Maple was a bitch to bend (I do it by hand over a heated cast iron pipe), but it has a really bright tone. I'm curing an all-Koa instrument now. Very excited about that one. Take care! Larry
i was not while working, i slipt on a slab of ice on the parkinglot, i was of balance and hit my closed hand on the prikkely icy slab, the feeling is coming back now, but i still will be a while Thanks for asking Greeeeettssszz A.D.
Thanks-but compared to most of the builders here I consider myself a rank amateur.
Even so, i'm having fun scaring the neighbors with my latest build, my "Ukuklele for Dummies" book for reference and my horribly unskilled fingerings... :)
Thanks, Rob. I have built 10 guitars and 17 ukes. Mostly doing ukes these days. Easier to build, play and sell. I am starting to use Chinese necks and fretboards because they are so damn cheap and the quality seems ok.
I used to post there a lot too, and Ukulele Cosmos but not many of the folks from before seem to be around those sites. Also used to frequent the 4th Peg way back when.
I run hot and cold on building due to the day job and honey-do list...
Thanks, Rob. It's just something I ended up with that wasn't a "normal" uke headstock. You've done a lot of nice work yourself. That's one thing I love about this site...all the amazing creativity.
Thanks for posting pics from the Martin tour. I'd love to do that one day.
Think so Rob!, flatten the graphite rods,so the cross rod do'nt slide, tap the box and sound appears, maybee a cover over the matchbos,Cloth or rosterwire, for finish touch, head phone, speaker or direct in a recording device, Words above are not ( ) FOR ANY DAMAGE TO ............ but great fun to do whit kids, see there Faces, when the sound come out ! Thanks Rob, likewise you build some very high end 4-stringers!
I hope you meant to say nice looking. : )
If so, thanks Rob! I dig your stuff too, your Risa uke is particularly awesome.
Thanks again Rob,the hook serves no function I just like the look of the extended heel.
Thanks Rob
