You are most welcome, and I hope you enjoy it. That story about those heroes that day is a story that bears repeating for generations to come. I look forward to seeing you video of the guitar in action....Dan

I was really excited to see you'd posted a vid, and even happier to see the lil banjo in action!  I have a Banjo-vie (19") and I love that re-entrant thing!  Your wife has a heartwrenching voice!

Matt,

Thanks, got it..... I might have gotten it, but with the move and all, if I had it, it is buried deep in some file or the other.

I enjoyed building for you and other service personnel, but it is rare to have such good communication as I've enjoyed with you.  Hope you are well and finding life full.

thanks for your service,

Sam

Sorry bout the time lag, I wasn't scrolling down far enough and did not  see your post.  These are larger than my regular portable bongos, 8 10, 12, 14", and with mallets they sound like timbales.  I usually use 1/2' no void ply with 1/8" plywood tops. I use small hinges to achieve a collapse the base. Will try and add a short video clip soon.

Hi Matt.

I wasn't just commenting on it as a Christmas song (some Christmas songs really wouldn't stand up at any other time of year). To me it is really good performance in any context. I can listen to to it at any time of year.

All the best.

John

NICE cd! I love the vintage feel of it. There are definitely some stories being told on this, relating to our conversation at the cbg fest. Definitely made some INTERESTING listening as I took on Irene making my way on Interstate 83, oh YEAH! Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

Glad to hear you are home!  The podcast has once again been on the back shelf for a bit, but I have 2 episodes I want to put together and upload soon.  I will also be starting a video blog on youtube this summer, I will post links once I get it going.

Matt, hope you are home with family now.  Just wanted to thank you for turning me on to CBN.  I made a post and Sam has offered to make a CBG and send it to me.  This is really a great community and a wonderful distraction from the work out here at Bastion.  Thanks again and wish me luck as I try my hand at a little cigar box music.

Thanks for the nice comments in your letter to the nation.  I am honored to do so little for you (all) who do some much for so many....

Matt, thanks so much for the kind words about the CBN community. It has been an honor and a privilege to send some of my instruments to service members who are making a huge sacrifice for their countries. Hopefully you will make it to the August York Fest, and I can buy you a beer. Keep your head down and we all look forward to your safe return.

Matt, I am really happy you are enjoying your banjo.  I never did yet get the hang of that frailing thing -- and annoyingly (but not really) my teenage daughter picked it up in about a weekend of goofing around on her banjo-uke.  So I'll have to give it another go!

I am thinking of building a 4-string banjo with re-entrant tuning.  What tuning would be good for a novice player who wants to jam in A, D and G?
