Box Face to nut?
Thanks

I would say in general for superior tone, just like you use a flat pick to play acoustic bluegrass guitar, using finger picks for finger style makes the same sense. Especially playing banjo and resonator instruments. These instruments need a good strong attack to energize the skin/cone. If you start out with them, you will grow with them. Adding them later can be just as frustrating. Keep this in mind, Bottleneck style is actually finger style with bottleneck technique added. So focusing on your right hand technique and using your fingers to fret notes first make make the process easier. Then when you are comfortable finger picking adding the bottleneck technique will be easier. Of course, if you find the finger picks too difficult, you can add them later, but I would suggest giving them a real good try first. Enjoy.

Thank you for your purchase. Please feel free to write if any questions arise as you work through the lessons. I think you will discover how nicely it all fits together in Open G tuning.

Thanks for the kind words! Well they confirmed what I suspected really. It depends on the playing style that’s intended for the guitar, the parallel wide string spacing helps for slide and a flat finger board does too. A radius helps for holding cords and comfort, and a tapered neck and normal string spacing help’s for comfort and finger picking. In short there are no rules really, guitars are the way they are to encompass all playing styles. That’s what I like about CBG’s the freedom to play around and find what you like! P.s. love the reso you have done it look really industrial, and the sliced sound holes on the other one very novel idea. I’m going to have a go at spinning my own reso cones soon I hope they turn out well!

It's a trap for giant lizards, grin. No, it's part of what holds the cap in some English Beers, you probably saw it on JuJu's plank...

Thanks Tres, I feel very welcome already. I don't even play guitar but feel very drawn to slide guitar and especially CBG's. It's hard to put my finger on it, hopefully that will change once I build one get to learning to jam. I played bass in a couple of bands in High school and have been playing the drums for about twelve years.
I think with the resources here I can fulfill a long time dream of playin' some down in the mud, back to the roots blues.
Ordered a hand made pickup and it seems I won the auction for a partially built CBG. I like the idea of building the thing I'm about to learn, I imagine it will give me a connection to the music I love!
