hiya mate thanks for the comment on the Tricone as regards your question about attaching the neck well the box sides are pretty thick anyway as it's a reso the box aint as important as a standatd acoustic as it's the cones that produce the sound kinda like a speaker backwards - the cones fire the sound into the box and the box amplifies it you also get sound from the front side of the cones - coverplate side but this is more high - mid tones - when you play the guitar it's pretty quite from the players position but when your facing the front of the guitar it's loud as shown in the video
heres a pic of the neck inside the box there are two little bracings maybe i did not need these but i added them just incase as i have used heavy Resonator strings on the build 16 - 56 gauge -as with the first reso i build i added a tension bar from the neck to the butt i think this adds the susssssssstain
Godzilla, I just noticed you're from Vista. I lived in San Diego for several years, and striped a lot of SoCal cars and bikes, then off to the desert near Palm Springs for R&R, until I could no longer resist the grandkids. Oh, the SoCal weather is so inviting.
Godzilla: Thank you for the friend request. I look forward to staying in touch with you and to learn from what I see on your site. You do a great job, and very creative. I'll be glad to lay down a few lines for you, just let me know. If you are interested, check out my blog http://TotalRojoGuitars.blogspot.com to see other stuff (archive posts).
Thanks for the comment on the cedar guitar. Yes I had seen your design to house the pre amp unit. Very slick design by the way. Do you have any problem removing the battery?
howdy godzilla, those tuners on the nefta banjo build are from e-bay,they cheap and are name branded--golden gate-- any how they made solid and look cool but i wouldnt recommend them on a good build.i think i got 5 sets fer 55 bucks if i remember right. take care my friend--talk with ya more later.
thanks for the comment godzilla on the gourd cone reso---it do kinda look like a tator, you never know what i might come up with next cause i still gots lots of ideas i havent tried yet.thanks again.

the secret is in the can placement godzilla haaaaaaaa and i also made the coverplate and it was zero cost and you can make your own coverplates too. if you look on my page at the pics i did a pictorial that shows every step i used to make that particular coverplate.if you need any help or any explinations on the coverplate makings i would be glad to help you learn to make them.
the you tube link is the sound check on the tri-can resonator with the biscuit piezo, that is what i tried to do with the first link, oops hope you don't mind the links on yer page godzilla,if you do i think you can x them out. check out the tone and tell me if you like it and i,ll tell you how i achieved that tone if you would like more info on it,thank you for the comment.
