Hi Jim,

If you want a version of Cripple Creek for your songbook that is played only on one string, you can transpose the song up by three notes. So, "2/0" is now "0" on string 1, "2/1" is now "1", "2/2" is now "2", what was "0" on string 1 is now "3"' and so on. Go ahead and try it.

The Shieks were a treat Jim, the music of yesteryear and the simplicity of it is golden...to reproduce it instrumentally could be achieved, but ooooh those vocals that's were they got ya stopped...but a fine song with good lyrics and vocals and decent play is still entertainment and todays songs will be yesteryears classics...I choose to write so no one knows how bad my vocals really are...lol....Claire has a fine country voice on her...nice mellow tone...my ear liked it...thank you so much for turning me onto them both..im going to research ukes and see what I think...I just might need one

Jim, I am thinking I am going to make the neck like the pallet wood banjo guy. But I want to try to use the plastic bottle over a cigar box for the body. I saw that you made one and I saw your video. What I am wondering is do I need a heat gun or will a blow dryer work? I would need to buy a heat gun if I can not use my hair dryer, what do you think.

I am currently looking for a good pallet to de construct in order to try this all out. Hopefully will find one this week. I see plenty of them but not many good ones. Thanks again for the advise.

Thanks for the advice. I think I may try the skin if I can find a cheap one. otherwise I will just cut the space only as big as I can find plastic for. Thanks again for the help. I will let you know how it goes when I finally get to it. Glad you liked the fiddle tunes. I think the whole collection is very strong.

Jim, have you seen this http://carverbanjos.wordpress.com/ I am just wondering if you think this would work. I was thinking I might try the plastic stretching thing you made the video on. I am just wondering if you think this design is playable? I do not think it would take too much time. I might just cut the pot shape in a rectangle to see if it is easier. Not really sure and am wondering what you think.

00000000000000flyaway.mp3 I would end with this one. I like the fade out. The song is so well known I do not think you need much of it to evoke the feeling you want. I also tend toward a shorter cd. It keeps things moving and prevents things from getting too repetitive. Hope you like them. Let me know if there is anything else you want me to get together for you,

Mayy

000000000000000veil.mp3 I think this one should open the cd. It has a haunting quality that speaks to what you will find in all your songs. Timeless

Jim, I have greatly enjoyed getting to know your music. I am glad you liked the painting. You can use it any way you want or go in a different direction, no worries. I have had a lot of fun working on this. I will put together the fiddle tunes soon as I decide on my favorites. Hope you are well.

0000000000000whiskey.mp3 here is another of the last 2 banjo tunes I thought to use. I want to put in at least 2 fiddle tunes but I am still deciding on the ones I like best. Will include them in the next few days

ok so this is sort of my thought. You could print it and maybe put it is a case or on a card stock case. Then just add a track list and any credits you want on the inside or backside. That would all depend on which order you put them in. I will put up another track here soon as well

Cool I will put something together. I have a cool painting I did of a sleleton playing a violin that sort of puts me in the right frame of mind. I will put an image together and send it your way along with some other mp3s.
