I finished it and it sounds pretty good, not sure if it was the holes but they didn't hurt any. Sold it to my guitar instructor/music shop owner. He wants to keep it for himself so I need to make some more for him to sell. It hangs over the checkout counter and seems to get pulled down a lot. I took that as a complement.

Today I invested a few pennies in a rubber walking stick end and that gets rid of the sharp sound. I can shift the pitch down with one of my FX pedals so I will give it a blast tomorrow.
