Dan, we have something here called Freecycle.  People post up with Wanted or Offered.  When the wanted thing is found, the poster changes the thread to Found, and Offered is changed to Taken.  Then folks can see where everyone stands and if help is still needed.

Would that idea work for us?  We'd need a FAQ at the top of the page, of course.

Iggy,
E-mail me at gmartin5@stny.rr.com and I will send the name of a soldier and his e-mail address so you can respond to you personally and give you the address. Thanks, the soldiers need people like us to remind them how much you care.

Thank you for sharing Iggy. I often see men playing the Kora on the subway platforms in NYC. A wonderful harp instrument that is tuned by moving leather bands (strings runs underneath them) wrapped around the poles, up and down to get the correct pitch. Very primative tuners. I am amazed that it works and stays in tune. Enjoy

Iggy, I use a spokeshave and rasp to make a rounded neck back. I will shave the back two corners down so the neck looks like 1/2 of an octagon, then finish a little to make it round. Then the rasp to make it really nice and smooth. One consideration -- wood grain. Sometimes a spokeshave will work well in one direction and horrible in the other. Also I laminate my neck so that the grain radiates down and out from the top center of the neck. Take a look at my pictures in my album and you will see what I'm talking about.

I'm trying to have a band practice tomorrow so probably not but I'll stop by if that falls through. 50/50 chance of this. Flaky musician people (^_^) ... Seriously I'll keep it mind. Got a time yet?

That's the plan! It turned into a busy week for me and I never got in contact with them about coming early. I'm not sure if anyone else did either. I guess we can just hang out at the actual one and take in some music.

Feel free to write and ask questions as you work through the lessons. If you are interested in learning, I am interested in sharing. Applying this approach is going to make your building better too. Hey, if you see old St. Nick...tell him World Peace would be a nice gift right about now too. Happy Holidays. Enjoy.

Thank you for your interest. My video lessons (CD1 and CD4) assume you know nothing. I use tablature that is easy to understand, but I also walk you step by step through the songs. I would suggest watching the whole CD through first like a TV show before picking up your guitar. This way you will see the big picture. I show you how to use various tools. A lot of experimenting. If you are looking for a way to understand how to play CBGs regardless of the number of strings, I think I offer a good approach. Read the blog I just posted on my page. This really is no different than the way the old Blues masters like Son House played their boxes. Open tuning is a folk artist's best friend. The CDs are very reasonable priced. You will understand. Happy Holidays. Enjoy

Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee
