hey laurie, this is a great place for it, from what i have seen everyone here is extremely supportive and will always be willing to help with advice, techniques, you name it. i love building CBGs mainly from the challenge aspect of it, trying something out then realizing it has a problem and having to solve that problem. enjoy
well thanks!!...yeah that's Denys on guitar...we got chatting on here when I first joined and I sent him my version of somehere in the blue with me just strumming on a little travel guitar I'd recently got (before I got my CBG's)...he came up with his beautiful guitar bit, so we decided to re do it : -).....we're thinking of trying a version of Smile in the new yr : -)
Always good to have a techy bro!...I have one too, lol, Belinda
thanks for the comment on Somewhere In The Blue!...people are so kind on here, which is very encouraging as I'm very underconfidant about my voice : -/...to record I've got a little mixer that plugs into the usb on my computer...where I use Acid Pro 7...so can add as many tracks as I want, until the computer complains or I get too confused!!!.....yeh get that 8 track out and go for it!!!
Thanks Ronie----stubborness and perserverance, and optimism, hopefulness.....all traits that have served me well from the time i found a banjo under a tree at a swap meet, that led to me even being here...(love of many styles of music, also KEY)...I will be sure and check out the band on site!thanks for the link and happiest of holidays to you and yours;-)....
Cheers!! Laurie
You keep at it. Once you see the video you'll notice Travis does not do anything fancy with the song. Sometimes it is best not to get to fancy with stuff.

Hey Laurie,
I've admired your music for a while... especially love your Sweet Potato shuffle... caught that about a year ago on youtube. Great song & voice. A fellow minimalist, fer sure. Keep up the great work.
All the best.
wish I built them!!!, Soon, I hope, not alot of spare time, I'm afraid, might enlist help form a friend....right now only decorating used guitars,....I love the cig boxes look, but for fun plan to try some art, family art maybe, using real good print copy like Giclee, and apply the art all over..see how it goes.
Hi,cheers for the compliment on my music.....early days for me....just had my guitars a few weeks, but they've really taken me over!!!
Yeah have a go with Ambiloop its really fun : -)....remember to make all the tracks the same length though (which I didn't work out at first!!)
Aaah you build guitars as well...you should be able to do something pretty interesting with your decoupage skills : -)
It looks you only have four frets on your lap steel, whats the story? It it just your personal way of playing and that all you need is four frets. Just wondering ( actually being nosey)
Happy Sunday folks. I've wanted to cover this 1981 Merle Haggard tune for a while and I decided today is the day. Here's a stripped down cover with nothing b...
