Whats YOURS?
This TERRAPLANE custom from John Dawson Winter III is one of mine , a custom build by this brand today is allmost 10000 dollar a Build, far out of reach for my wallet.
But they are out there the ultimo Slide Guitar ,players like Sonny Landreth play on this for me a "HOLY GRAIL"

The Tele/White Falcon you mentioned, I think I saw one on Sun Studios Sessions once. Big Thinline Tele with arch top, 2 F-Holes and 2 Filtertrons. That one was Orange, but I saw one painted like a White Falcon. They're made by a custom builder.
Squier is using Basswood for the bodies instead of the Alder and Ash that Fender uses and Basswood has always sounded kinda Flat/Dull to me. They are using Seymour Duncan pickups though and that's a plus. Fender was trying to boost sales with the Jagstag guitar and even now they have a lot mixed up guitars going. The original Jaguar's best attribute was the neck pickup and the tremolo system IMO. Mustang and Duosonic were great little short scale guitars that didn't seem to sell much back in the day which is why there wasn't many made?
Squier is making a Baritone Jazzmaster this year without the Tremolo.
These U style guitars just look a bit clunky/hard to manage while playing, but that might be just me. I've always been put off by thick and big bodied acoustics. Maybe if someone made it in a Thinline. Like the Thinline Telecaster and extend the upper bout.
Check it out
I wouldn’t touch a Squire, even if you payed me, really bad move on Fenders part? Japanese made Squire, different story, great quality
I played a nighthawk, wasn’t what I was expecting, I’m not a fan of the modern neck shape they’re calling a “slim taper” I’m partial to the original style Gibson necks. If you can find a vintage Jaguar, then go for it, there’s nothing like the original? I hated the Curt Cobain Jagstang, it was about as awkward as his playing was? They made them so he would stop smashing vintage ones during their shows? Another good one they keep changing up on reissues is a Mustang, those are great for lead players, but vintage ones are harder to find since they didn’t produce a lot of them? I used to love fixing guitars for two used guitar shops at the same time, I got to take apart & learn about all these guitars we’re talking about, first hand? The internet is killing these kinds of places tho :(
Agreed Brian. I like the A2 and A3 tones for the bridge and middle, but the A5 can be great for the neck to calm the mud.
Slash has a named model by Epiphone and Zack Wylde has a new one too. Guitar player for Mastodon has a deal with them too.
Santana has been with PRS for a long time. Don't know of any new changes for him.
A lot of new guys have deals with Squier. Zack Myers, Jay Mascis?
You’re right, the first incarnation had alnico 2, but everybody back then was using it , even Fender? Although Gibson switched it up to alnico 5 in 66-67’, my 54’ strat sounds warmly beautiful with its alnico 2 pickups? For the difference to your ear Paul, it’s the materials used today? They’re different from the old alnico, formulas change along the way & so does the quality of metals that are mined. You won’t get the same quality from mountain to mountain when it’s something that’s mined, each mining source has its own qualities? Or at least that’s what Seymour told me?
They even have a Tele modeled after a Gretsch white falcon? And they’ve added Santana & Slash to their roster?
