Here's a link to the Duesenberg Rezobro guitar I mentioned early on in this thread. Awesome sound and available tones. Imagine being able to have a reso tone when you want it and turn it off when you don't want it.

It’s kool that those companies started in 1800’s, they’re low end stuff we’re fine quality instruments, I read Orville almost wrapped it up a few times before the twenties? I’ve had a chance to play some Gibson banjos, mandolins & ukes from the twenties, I’ll never forget the feel, playability & tone that came from them, stuff to tell the grandkids about? Legendary!!!

The Taylor T5Z has a piezo bridge pickup, a stacked humbucking pickup in the bridge area and a humbucking pickup buried in the neck pocket that only senses body/neck vibrations.

There is one Acoustic guitar out there that I'm really interested in because it is so much more than just an Acoustic guitar. The Taylor T5Z

True.

Gibson started out making Violins and Mandolins. Then started making Acoustic guitars when the market opened up and took them awhile to catch up.  I've always heard that their famed Humingbird Acoustic was just a copy of a Martin.

Here’s another one of my Holy grail, 30’s Epipphone Zenith, a lot of people don’t know Gibson was copying Epiphone back then, the only reason they bought them out was to get them out of their way? Epiphones were way higher in quality than Gibson back then. Old man Epi’s family sold to Gibson after his death cuz they didn’t wanna run the company? These things play like butter for an archtop acoustic?

That's super.

There's always an exception to the rule.

I have a Chinese made guitar that I got cheap from a friend. The neck was snapped off during shipping. It's a SX brand and a PRS clone. 25" scale, Mahogany body with a Flame Maple top, Mahogany neck with Rosewood fretboard, Tremolo and 2 humbuckers. I glued the neck back on and added a brace plate and installed some Chinese made upgrade pickups. This guitar sounds just as good as the Gibson LP Studio I used to have. It plays like any 1k to 2k guitar you could find on the market today. I was completely floored by this guitar and does whatever I want it to so far.Hanging out with the Boys.

Personally, I don’t like putting top quality pickups in Chinese guitars, I do it all the time with my guitar tech business, but that seems to be the trend today? I would just save up more money & buy what I really want, you can dress up a pig, but at the end of the day, it’s still a pig? I’m a purist to the end :D yes I don’t like basswood, Ibanez chased me away when they started making all their models with it? IMO, it doesn’t have a to good of an acoustic quality to it? I’ve got my eyes on a 63’ Gretsch corvette right now, Paul, its current owner wants to keep it as a wall hanger, it’s dying to be played & I want it!
