Even though I have been building these instruments for a while, I still get excited every time I plug one in for the first time and here it come alive.

I'm with ya, man.  That's one of the best sounds in the world.  Actually just a strum, plugged in or not for me.  I had one build hanging on the wall until the customer had time to meet and pick it up.  Family walking by would always give it a strum when they walked past it, it was the chime of the angels.
