What size box is recommended?

Hi what size box is suggested for building a cbg?Got my hands on a cigarbox by the size 9 X 7 inches, how about that? (to small?)Could probably build me my own box but.....   no.Just got interested…Continue

Oh and the biggest challenge when I make a scarf is that the face of the headstock is thinner than the neck. Usually the neck is 7/8" (19mm) and the headstock is about 5/8" (15.875mm).

Ahhhh, yes, you're the one I commented on having the extra wood inside the box. Good solution. I do the same and it makes the neck much stronger there.

so your interest in scarf joints. I see in your photos you have a picture of a scarf drawing. That will work. What ever works that will make the strings bend over the nut and stay in place. There are many ways to make a scarf and everyone has their own method. I do use about 13 degree angle but some use 8 - 15 degrees.

I just hate using string trees.
