Although, I do not teach this song on CD 1 (Open D tuning 6 string guitar and 3 string CBG / DAd tuning), I teach other Fred McDowell tunes. More importantly, I teach the method and techniques I use to figure out and arrange songs. I believe, armed with this info and getting the basic bass and melody line finger picking technique strong, you will have no problem understanding how to play this song. There are 11 long strips, plus 2 shorties for headstock width. I tend to be pretty picky about my alignment from nut to tuner, I like the strings to be as straight as possible. I had to taper the neck to accomodate the strat bridge assembly, giving me a nut width of 1-3/4, which is very comfortable to play
