Book end paper...good source for a Gitty transfer...

used to be a book binder in a small shop, we would go to New York to purchase endpapers. made some of our own, it's that method where one puts oil paint on water, it floats on top, make a design, and carefully place the paper on the surface of the water.

i forgot the maker of the paper. it has to be thin, not  heavy weight paper, but tight. i think we bought paper just for the process. the important thing is it has to fold in half without cracking the paint. the paint becomes one with the paper so this doesn't happen. sorry i can't recommend a specific brand, i'll call my friend to see if he remembers. or i'll do some research. been awhile. large pieces are difficult, need steady hands, then usually they would be cut for the front and back of the book. you can also purchase already made endpapers.

Nice marbling, what type/weight of paper did you use? I used to marble garments & hard objects long ago, glad to see this art form hasn’t gone away. The patterns that come out are quite exquisite  for sure. Good stuff
