What a great idea for adjusting the bridge height.... bridge adjusting do hickies

yeah I've heard about the 3rd thing...but often you can't get the right brake angle for the strings unless it's nearer to the end of the box...

Yeah get back to me at build 200 and maybe I'll have a better idea. But I'm very happy with the sound so I'm sticking with the tuning fork placement concept. Its roughly one third from the base of the guitar. and then you play around from there. It depends on the material the beast is made out of etc.

thanks...mmm unless you build loads of them exactly the same but try out different bridge placements it's always going to be hard to tell

That looks gorgeous,I love the art deco styling. A truly wonderful looking guitar, a bakelite beauty.

Thanks all for the comments. B, its a 23 inch scale length tuned presently to GDGG with A=442hz which apparently gives better harmonics etc. It is a weird proportion - it stemmed from a discussion about placing the bridge on the sweet spot on the box & locating that using a tuning fork. So the bridge placement in this case wasnt for visual aesthetics. The sound hole is located next to a sweet spot - the concept being that the sweet spot is where the box vibrates the most in that area - so thought I will put the sound hole next to one of those to see if it maximises the sound. Bit hard to tell though because of the amount of bracing that ended up inside the box. Whilst I was careful not to have it impact on the sound board I'm sure it blocks the sound from bouncing around in side the box. I think Hoov was part of that thread about tuning forks etc I know Roadkill was.

you must've told me, but what scale length is it?...the neck looks short, but I think that's because the box is so big?
