I've been meaning to make one of these for ages to adjust the curve on our frewire. It comes in 5kg coils and has a fair amount of curve on it, and whilst I like this as it helps keep the fret ends down when driving it into the slots, sometimes for things like re-fretting vintage guitars I prefer the fretwire to be pretty much straight.

So, with some scrap plywood, a few spare bearings and an adjuster off an old drawing board, here it is. I simply run the wire thru the rollers, crank down the adjuster a wee bit and feed the wire thru'. I was intending to put a crank on it, but it really doesn't need it, and I can feel exactly whats happening as a feed the wire thru'.

I'll try to do something like that with another adjusting system, very smart idea you have developed.
Thanks!
