The tone does not change at all because the speaker I used is an odd weatherproof one with a sealed back. I am trying more traditional speakers on the next batch and I thin the open back will make a difference. The sliding hatch is a neat detail to these box's.

Soldered up the components myself with lots of help from internet research and cigar box nation members. Check out the it goes to 11 forum, lots of good help there.

did you canibalize a small amp or do it yourself? I'd like to build one myself but don't think I know enough about the wiring to do it without taking the guts from something else. So, how did ya do it brother? Looks GREAT!
