Francis, i forgot to let you know. I started fixing old instruments with Ukuleles. I have over 100 of them. They hang over my head like bats. I've got 40 of them right above my head. Most all of them needed repair when i got them. Many remain to be fixed. I keep pecking at them and sell them on ebay. I'm sure you can fix your Mom's uke back up to playing. That's my thrill, to get them back to life.

Hey Francis, Ya that's what they said. I should have taken a photo of the side view and you'd see what I mean. The top sunk into the body so it is like a bowl. About 1 inch deep bowl... I can't flex the top back into shape without some heat and steam i suppose. When i push on it now, it starts to crack and moan. The back and sides are ok except one side is stove in with a nice hole poorly cleated inside (they need to come out and shaped cleats added). This i can fix easy (except for getting the old cleats out). I found two of my Martin factory split halves that fit together! I will glue them back into a top for this old bird. She'll fly again!
