First time I tried doing a nut like this out of some endgrain oak. Don't think I'd do it this way again :)

I had done that one my first CBG and the srings kept digging deeper and deeper into the wood.  That's why the temporary (I really need to shape that antler I was given) wood nut on my #2 has a zero fret across the top of it.  But that does nothing to help locate the strings and this one really needed to help locate the strings.  I thought maybe using the end grain would be stronger.  Think I'll stick with non wooden nuts from now on :)

Oops, try turning the wood so the grain goes across. Live and learn eh.
