Some while ago I built a gitty with an oak neck. Sadly, the neck wanted to be a banana. After many attempts to fix the problem, I stripped it all down and saved the box and hardware.
I have now built a new gitty with the original box and bits but with a beech neck in the style of Del Puckett. Here she be: Fretless 25" VSL tuned EBE and piezo under the bridge. Mahogany fingerboard.

A very good looking fish head git.   Sometimes they need semi-junked and a start over.   I've had some bow issues too.  Now I try to glue up a finger board and usually a through the box heel.  I've found that even using a lathe or softwood yard stick glued up adds a lot of strength and 'anti-bow.
