Soldering is pretty easy John. Steady hand and a bit of patience. It turns you into a monster though. You look at electronics in a whole new way and think...I wonder if...

I guess I better learn to solder!  Huh?

Hey John, I just buy the amp alone by itself for builds like this as you already have the speaker and such. I buy input jacks, knobs  and such from Ben (Gitty) in bulk.

Maddog...Do you buy the kits with the box, the ones that come with a little extra?  Instead of the basic kit from Gitty?  Thanks!

Maddog, that is just what I'm thinking.  I want to rip the one out of my CB amp and use that but I might settle down and finish what I am supposed to be working on first and just order it and wait...Oh so hard!

Just begging to be an amp! Nice find.

Cool lookin' radio John! If it were me I would strip the inside and sink a 2.5 watt Artec amp that Gitty sells in the one knob hole and put the input jack in the other knob hole. 9v battery box in the back. Leave the tuning dial as is. Drill one hole in the middle and just below the knobs for an on/off led and you're off to the races.

Now, that's neat!

I think I need to look into the 9v option.  What I thought was the chewed up remains of a chord was actually what was left to the old wires that went to the old "A" or "B" batteries.  Very cool stuff inside!  I never messed with this old elec. stuff before.  SO, I will now do some research on how to power it up!  Advice is greatly appreciated...
