Thanx for the tips, it will be a while before I can get to that project, I have 10 builds started right now, I try to have 5 ready to finish at a time, especially if urethane is involved...

Thanks, George.  Mine (2) have been about 1.25" thick, partly because that was how the recycled semi trailer floor (#32) finished out.  I don't think I'd go thinner, but maybe up to 1.5" would still be pretty reasonable.  Instead of a bolt-on neck, I still embrace the thru-neck typical of most CBG's.  I use 2x2 (1.5" x 1.5") turning blanks from Home Depot or Lowes, as they're readily available.  My two so far have been poplar, but they also stock Red Oak. I mill in a slot for the wire from the pickup to the output jack along the edge of the lower body half, using a table saw or router.  Depending on where you want the jack located, you may need to drill an long angled hole from the slot to the vicinity of the jack.  That's what I did on this build.  I used an end-pin jack/strap button on #32 (and routed the slot along the edge of the upper body half).   Pickups with the wires coming off of one end tend to be easier to fit in.  The Original Flatpups that Elmar (and Dan Sleep) offer are really easy to use; the soap-bar on this build was slightly more complex as it required cutting in a pocket (which I did using forstner bits, and a chisel to square up).  Still, not too complex.  Hope this helps!  Keep us posted on your progress!
