Dave, I used 2 coats of Birchwood Casey's Tru-oil applied with a foam brush. Tru-oil has boiled lindseed in it with a hardener. The lindseed oil was soaked up by the wood and the hardener left on top, drying time overnight between each coat. Now she's solid and rings like a bell. Strum one string and it will ring for about 15 seconds!!! (timed it,...LOL)
