Un-natural alliance between a Fender Starcaster neck, the Bridge and neck pick-up from a Hanna Montana guitar, and a Cigar box! I hope the "guitar gods" have a sense of humor! My first 6-string build, but definitely won't be my last. I enjoyed the challenge. Learned a bunch too, and that's what it is all about. Already dreaming of my next one with dual humbuckers!

Thanks Pinkie,

I was surporsed how it sounded.  The pickups worked well with this guitar.  There's no way to tell just how they'll turn out until you build with them.  Too many combinations of box sizes, through-necks vs. hollow, etc.  My biggest concern was getting the scale length and string height set properly.  I figured everything else would take care of itself.  Please post your creations.  We should start a contest to see what can be done with a former Hanna Montana guitar :)

Very cool guitar! I love the red paint job.

How do you like the sound of the neck pickup in a CBG? I bought several of those Hannah Montana guitars for parts when they were liquidating them on Ebay. To be honest, I kinda like the tone those wimpy little HM neck pickups produce, especially with a wee bit of overdrive. I am seriously considering using one in a build that I am about to start.

You've made a beautiful instrument!

Right. I thought that would be the solution. Cool. My 6 string electric is solid for the most part. Was going to do a semi, but just not in the cards.

Th-anks for the feedback everyone!  Wes, I call it a semi-solid body due to the fact that there is a 3 inch strip of hardwood down the middle and it's open (hollow) everywhere else.

Semi-solid body?

Nice work! Even if the guitar gods don't get a chuckle out of it, we sure do. :)
